Judge july is known and loved for her quick, snappy and whitty comments and comebacks on her show. Not to mention the facial expressions she makes as well.
You cannot get anything past this judge!
In this humorous courtroom clip, Judy really lays into the defendant, Erika Gebhardt. In the video, Erika is argues that the $2000 she received from the plaintiff was a gift – the plaintiff felt that the money should have been repaid to her. Judge Judy asks Erika how many children she has, and Erika replies, “Five. My twins are 8, I have a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 9-month-old.”
Judy then asks the defendant if she works – to which Erika replies, “I have five children. They’re my work.” This observant judge seems to be going somewhere with her pointed questions – and she most certainly is! Things begin to get interesting as Judge Judy and the defendant begin to banter back and forth…
As Judy starts to lose her patience with Erika’s “justifications” – she says to her, “You can have as many children as you like, as long as you’re able to take care of them. But, when you have to rely on other people to take care of your children, then it becomes more of a problem.” Judge Judy then describes the life that Erika could’ve lived if she hadn’t “chosen to have a gaggle of children.” And then, as Erika continues to defend her position, she suddenly “slips up” and the case instantly ends!
